ElevenLabs launched in January 2023 with the first AI model to cross the threshold of human-like speech. In January 2025, we raised a $180 million Series C round, valuing ElevenLabs at $3.3 billion. ElevenLabs has established itself as the category leader in AI voice, going from $0 to $100 million in ARR in just two years with a team of ~50. The company’s proprietary models power ultra-realistic speech in over 30 languages, with sub-75 millisecond latency and state-of-the-art quality across prosody, expression, and control. Its platform is now used by over 60 percent of the Fortune 500 and has become core infrastructure for publishers, gaming studios, media companies, and AI-native startups.

What differentiates ElevenLabs is not just model performance, but product velocity and ecosystem depth. In less than two years, they’ve shipped a full audio stack: real-time voice agents, localization tools, dubbing studios, developer APIs, and a consumer reader app. Their technology is behind Perplexity’s podcast, TIME’s voice articles, and even voice preservation for ALS patients. As voice becomes a dominant human-computer interface, ElevenLabs is positioned to be the foundational layer for a new generation of audio-native applications.
